The Borgen Project is seeking dedicated individuals to join our U.K. Board of Trustees, who can help to guide and support our organisation's efforts in the United Kingdom. The Borgen Project is seeking dedicated individuals to join our U.K. Board of Trustees, who can help to guide and support our organisation's efforts in the United Kingdom. The Board of Trustees provides strategic leadership, governance and works to build the organisation’s resources. Responsibilities: Governance: Provide strategic guidance, oversight and accountability for the organisation's activities in the U.K. Fundraising: Engage in fundraising activities, leveraging personal networks to secure funding for the organisation’s initiatives and programs. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s guiding principles. Financial Oversight: Monitor and review the financial performance of the organisation, ensuring all resources are safely handled utilised and accounted for. Board Meetings: Attend and actively participate in quarterly board meetings which are held virtually.

Selection Process: The Selection Committee receives input from the Board of Directors and determines individuals the organisation would like to connect with. Candidates are nominated and voted on by The Borgen Project’s Board.

Availability:
Qualifications: Understanding of global development issues is an advantage. Knowledge of U.K. charity governance and regulatory guidelines is preferred but not required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong networking and relationship-building abilities. Background in fundraising and resource mobilisation is highly desirable.
