Seeking volunteer tutors for after-school program

The sessions are to primarily help students complete their homework and then work on various writing assignments with them and help with others subjects they might need work on. Our program provides tools and resources via Google Drive to assist tutors through the sessions and provides some of the tools like writing assignments and etc.

Monday's sessions run from 5:30-6:30pm and 6:45-7:45pm, Wednesday's and Thursday's sessions run from 4:45 pm-5:45 pm. Tutors would simply be required to remotely join a zoom session holding individual break-out rooms for student-tutor pairs.

We also host in-person tutoring on Tuesday's in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood- Bezazian Library!

If you enjoy working with students and are intrigued by any of this opportunity please reach out to us so we connect on how you might be able to help our program!

Type of help: Mission Statement: Inspired Youth enriches the academic lives and creative talents of students in Chicago’s Uptown, Edgewater, and Rogers Park neighborhoods through weekly tutoring during the school year, a summer music program, and a year-round choir. Our goal is to support and mentor students in developing the confidence and skills needed to succeed in school and life. This program is free to students from all backgrounds. Description: The Inspired Youth Tutoring Program helps elementary through high school students with school homework and extra reading, writing, and arithmetic during the academic year. Most of the children in the program attend Goudy Elementary School. Some of the children are referred by teachers at Goudy, but most hear about the program from friends. Many students from Goudy or the surrounding schools speak English as a second language or have recently found a home in the United States and settled in Chicago. We develop the children’s basic reading and math skills, supplement their classroom activities, and try to help create a safe community.
