Role Overview: We are looking for a creative, dedicated Volunteer Content Writer to join our team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about storytelling, community engagement, and making a difference through their writing. You will play a crucial role in shaping our voice and helping us connect with our audience through compelling blogs, engaging emails, and various marketing materials. Key Responsibilities: -Content Creation: Craft original, engaging content for our blog that reflects our mission, programs, and community impact. Topics will range from highlighting success stories and discussing local issues to promoting upcoming events and initiatives. - Email Marketing: Develop and write content for our email newsletters, including updates, event promotions, and calls to action that motivate readers to engage with our cause. - Collaboration: Work closely with our marketing and program teams to brainstorm content ideas, gather information, and ensure consistency in our messaging across all platforms. - Brand Voice: Maintain and refine the Dream Factory of Brooklyn’s voice and tone in all written materials, ensuring they align with our values and branding guidelines. - SEO Best Practices:

Type of help: Apply SEO principles to maximize the reach and effectiveness of our content online. Qualifications: - Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. - A strong portfolio demonstrating your writing abilities and versatility (personal blogs, contributions to online platforms, etc. are all acceptable). - Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and engagingly to a diverse audience. - Familiarity with SEO principles and best practices. - Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. - Passionate about community service, social issues, and making a positive impact. - Prior experience in content writing, marketing, or communications is a plus but not required. Commitment: This is a volunteer position with flexible hours, requiring approximately 5 hours per week. We are looking for someone who can commit to at least 1 year, as building a consistent voice takes time.
