Type of help: Mission Statement: The mission of Valuable Blessings, Inc. Nonprofit Organization is to intervene and counsel at-risk, off-track, economically disadvantaged youth populations with a variety of services, including mentoring, cultural awareness, cooking classes and academic enrichment. We seek to overcome what has become a major obstacle to organizations and social service agencies that provide services to these individuals by creating an organizational paradigm that eradicates the negative attitudes and low-self esteem that permeate the minds of so many of these at-risk youth. Description: Valuable Blessings, Inc., a tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Prince George's County, Maryland, has implemented a new grassroots cooking, tutorial and mentoring program targeted toward at-risk and underachieving youth in Capitol Heights and District Heights, Maryland. Valuable Blessings, Inc. is a faith-based community-based organization that is dedicated to working with other community-based organizations and educational institutions in an effort to improve the academic performance, cultural awareness and life skills of students throughout Prince George's County, Maryland.
