Our mission is to provide engaging digital content that stimulates curiosity about STEM fields for students, professionals, and lifelong learners. Through projects like STEM Pathways, we aim to raise awareness of STEM occupations by showcasing organizations addressing global challenges and highlighting diverse STEM careers.

Role Description

This is a volunteer remote role for a Board of Directors Member, Director of Development & Partnerships. We are seeking a highly experienced and connected individual to join our international Board of Directors. As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in helping us build relationships with government agencies and large organizations in the science, technology, and engineering spaces. Your expertise and connections will enable us to develop strategic relationships with decision-makers in these organizations, furthering our mission to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders. There is no time-commitment requirement, however we ask that you dedicate a reasonable amount of time to this board position. In general, 1-2 hours per week is adequate.

Type of help: Responsibilities: Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies and large organizations in the science, technology, and engineering spaces Identify and pursue opportunities for partnerships, collaborations, and sponsorships with these organizations Connect with decision-makers and influencers in these industries to promote our mission and content Provide strategic guidance on our programs and initiatives Participate in regular Board meetings to provide feedback and guidance Collaborate with our team to develop and implement outreach and engagement strategies Represent Accelerator Media at industry events and conferences (occasionally)
Languages spoken: ENGLISH
What else ...: Requirements: 10+ years of experience in a leadership role in government, industry, or a related field Strong connections with government agencies and large organizations in the science, technology, and engineering spaces Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and educational media a plus
