Facebook / Social Media Manager

Type of help: We have a smart and creative team, and all are passionate about our mission. This role is for a professional marketer who is ready to make volunteering part of their lives. We are looking for someone who has experience in marketing and managing organic social media. (The position is not for the average Facebook user.) Once per week you will receive a schedule for the upcoming week's posts. We normally have about 7 posts per week, once per day. Posts include dogs in need, and one educational or entertainment post, and sometimes an announcement. The posts can be scheduled all at once, but on occasion you will be asked to post unscheduled messages such as an urgent dog case, unexpected need or opportunity, etc. You will have the support of a Social Media & Marketing team leader as well.

What else ...: This position requires you to use a computer, Internet access, and email. A good foundation in Google Workspace required. You will need experience on the Admin side of Facebook (Meta Business Suite) for scheduling posts and monitoring insights. Good writing skills and grammar are needed, while some creative writing and basic graphic skills are desirable. We have a Pro Canva for the team! Tasks include the following: 1. Schedule about 7 posts each week using Buffer or the Meta Business Suite. 2. 3. Use the google drive to access content. 4. 5. Familiarize yourself with each dog by reviewing the content. 6. 7. Write a very short catchy description foreach dog (1-2 lines), upload pics and videos, use relevant hashtags, and tag relevant organizations. All content is provided except for the short intros you will write for each post. 8. 9. Share ARK dog posts with Massachusetts Pets Available for Adoption Facebook Group. 10. 11. Timely response to occasional (a few/week) team emails (within 1-2 days preferred). 12. 13. Monitor the FB account and respond to direct messages and comments. 14. 15. Help promote engagement, build and foster our social community, and increase followers. 16. 17. Announce adoptions and thank followers for their help. 18. 19. Maintain brand look/feel/voice. 20. Hours expected: Approx 3 hours per week to schedule 7 weekly posts, answer team emails, respond to follower comments & DM's. The first couple of weeks will take more time as you will be getting to know the rescue and content.

Wish List: REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 21 Google suite, Meta Business, timely email responses, good teammate, good writing (spelling, grammar), and basic graphics preferred. Live in the U.S. within 2 hrs from east coast time.
