Content Coordinator

Translation Commons is looking for a Content Coordinator to work on content development, and content management for its Website, Social Media projects. Here is a brief role description of what we are looking for :
Liaise between internal teams, marketing, social media team, content owners, advisors and webteam to curate content and edit requests
Incorporate images, videos, and typeface for consistent branding and mapping it to writing-content style guidelines
Check for copyright, accessibility issues, content accuracy ( misspelling, grammatical errors, image re-use, image cropping, audio, video )
Work closely with marketing & graphics team to ensure high quality imagery free of copyright and ensuring owners retain copyright permissions
Review content with content owners, advisors to ensure consistency, integrity and distribute content per posting guidelines
Check videos, multimedia / streaming content for closed-captions, subtitling, translations to different languages using internal industry standard tools
Understand guidelines set by different social media platforms, blogs for content upload, content creation and downloads or cross-linking
Optimize keywords and coordinate with other teams to create engaging text, image, video content to increase web presence.

Type of help: Description Translation Commons is a non-profit community of language lovers, professionals and technologists. We provide a roadmap and create resources for a digital ecosystem where all languages have equal access and speakers can pursue educational, cultural and economic opportunities. We are partners to the International Year of Indigenous Languages, a UNESCO initiative, and are creating resources for the International Decade of Indigenous Languages, 2022-2032, making language rights a reality for all people! Our Language Digitization Initiative is enabling many languages to get their script online and partake to digital opportunities. Our volunteers are the heart and soul of our community. Their passion for language and their expertise in technology are the cornerstones of all our initiatives. Our activities are centered around career paths that volunteers can engage, experience and practice. Our platform offers over 40 free language related tools. Our courses and resources include a variety of language topics, all created by our volunteers. As part of our support towards Pandemic, Crisis, Emergency & Safety ; our Covid-19 poster-maker is translated in over 350 languages and for the majority of these communities, our poster has been the only Covid-19 information available in their language. Our volunteers also offer their help to other organizations responding to any ongoing Covid-19 crisis.
