Volunteers for Camp Kangaroo! (virtual opportunity)

Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care of Maryland will be hosting "Camp Kangaroo", a special bereavement day camp for children grades 1 through 12 who have lost a loved one. Volunteers are needed on camp days to help with set up, registration, play activities, arts and crafts, lunch service and clean up. Volunteers must commit to helping all 3 days of camp. Please contact Karleen Lombard, Manager of Volunteer Services, at klombard@seasons.org for an application packet.

Camp Kangaroo provides a day camp experience and a supportive atmosphere for children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, grandparent, or significant friend. The primary goal during the weekend will be to provide children with the opportunity to meet other children who have lost a loved one and to share and normalize the feelings surrounding their experiences. Activities throughout the weekend will focus on memoralizing their loved ones, self-care techniques, building relationships, and having fun in spite of a difficult time. Camp Kangaroo is a free camp made possible by the Seasons Hospice Foundation. If you know a child who would benefit from attending Camp Kangaroo, please have the parent/guardian contact Seasons Hospice at 888-523-6000.
