Friends of Spy Pond Park 1) Treasurer/Bookkeeper/Accountant and 2)Assistant

➢ Sign necessary paperwork with President at Arlington’s Citizen’s Bank to assume this position officially, get Treasurer’s records, checkbook, and arrange to obtain FSPP debit card, and CD access.

Ø Submit Massachusetts Form PC (Public Charity) and Federal form 990 postcard (EZ or N depending) by May 15 of each year for the previous year,

Ø Renew and pay fee for PO Box at East Arlington PO before November (set up via autopay),

Ø File MA annual report (officer list) due in November. Can do online at https://corp.sec.state.ma.us/corp/loginsystem/login_form.asp?FilingMethod=I

Ø Submit FSPP annual Treasurer’s report to President for the year ending 12/31 for annual meeting in following January (end of 1 st week in Jan. contributions and 2024 CD figures included) and projected budget for the current year,

Ø Provide interim financial reports at each FSPP board meeting,

Ø Obtain dues/contribution checks and slips from Database Manager, deposit and pay bills.

Ø Maintain the FSPP checkbook in good order,

Ø Send acknowledgements via bulk merge mail or snail mail for the above contributions, and

Ø Provide adequate training and setup with task descriptions and a timeline if/when turning over this role to another person, at least a 2-month notice required.

Description: FSSP supports the Ongoing protection and beautification of the park Preservation of open green space and wild life Prevention and reduction of pond pollution Use of the park as a community and cultural resource There are volunteer opportunities on Work Days 1/mo. and Fun Days usually once a year posted on our website. The park is located between Pond Lane and Linwood Street in East Arlington, MA

Wish List: REQUIREMENTS: Background Check Must be at least 21 Orientation or Training approximately 2-3 hours weekly on average The volunteer has basic bookkeeping knowledge, honesty, accuracy, attention to details, reliability, reporting and communication skills, and the ability to use previous FSPP Treasurer's records as a guide for 2025's responsibilities.
